“The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he understands how weak we are; he knows we are only dust.”
Psalm 103:13–14
• One day Lori and Dean found a nest of wild baby ducks on the large estate where they worked as caretakers. The mother lay dead by the nest, and efforts to save the tiny creatures failed, until only one little one remained. They took Baby with them in the evening and placed him in their fountain that flowed like a stream. “He can swim here, and the wooden fence will keep him in the yard,” Dean said. Their yellow Labrador, Max, seemed to say, “Oh, what a sweet little thing.” He stood guard, and when Baby decided to take a walk in the grass, Max gently nosed him back to the water. Everyone loves Max. He’s gentle and tender with his family and any helpless little creatures around him. But isn’t it comforting to know that Jesus is a supremely more tender and compassionate friend, even than Max? Welcome God’s tenderness into your life this very moment.
