“The LORD looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race.”
Psalm 33:13
• My husband and I ambled along an Oregon beach at low tide. As we strolled, our eyes scanned the wet sand and fattening breakers, looking for unbroken shells and sand dollars. It occurred to me that God isn’t the ordinary beachcomber. His search is far different than mine. I’m intent on a flawless, unbroken shell. He seeks the flawed and broken—you and me. For who of us can traverse a life span without being swept about in the tides of disappointment or despair? Being caught in an undertow of uncertainty and fear? Enduring the raging storms of pain and suffering? Yet He searches. And, thankfully, He finds! Cupping us tenderly in His hands, God carries us home. God rescues and repairs our broken hearts.
