Shining Good Deeds

“Let your good deeds shine out for all to see,

so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Matthew 5:16

• I was not in the shopping mood. Getting out of my car to enter the bustle of shoppers in Wal-Mart, I saw a young Mexican couple ready to get into their car. I spoke Spanish with them and told them I loved their language and their music. Then they got into the car, and I walked toward the store. Then I heard someone yelling and turned around to see they were calling to me. As I approached them, the man held out a tape of Mexican music for me and wanted me to accept it as a gift. That act warmed my heart, and I thanked them with deep gratefulness. They did much more for me than they could have imagined. They touched my heart with the brotherhood of love and sparked joy in me. I walked through the mall praising the Lord. Good deeds shine for all to see.
