“The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8
• My mother-in-law lives right next door, just behind our house, and she’s a marvelous gardener. Every spring I’m impressed by the colorful red bromeliads that bloom so beautifully between our yards. And each year I plan to take pictures of them so I can savor their loveliness at any time of the year. And . . . each year I’ve missed the opportunity. These special plants blossom only for a short period of time. I need to be quicker with my camera! As the Scripture reminds us, too, plant life is here today and gone tomorrow. Even our own life, according to the Bible, is merely a mist that comes and goes so quickly. But God’s Word? It lasts, it never fades, it’s there long after all our gardens are just memories. May you keep your spirit open to the everlasting Truth.
