“The LORD your God has arrived to live among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will rejoice over you with great gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will exult over you by singing a happy song.”
Zephaniah 3:17
• I often sit in a velvet chair near my daughter while she practices the piano. I curl up as her music fills the book-lined walls with melody, harmony, and . . . discord. Because I love her, whether she plays the wrong notes or the right ones, I applaud her dedicated efforts. I am her audience of one. She is my beloved. You and I live before an audience of One as well. As we blend our notes together, seek harmony, and try to right life’s discords, we practice life’s song. We long for harmony, so we strive to learn what Christ teaches. We want to understand his melodies, so we ask for His help. And when we play our life-notes, He applauds our efforts with gladness. Therefore . . . rejoice! As we practice Christ’s presence, our notes fill the world with His passionate song.
