“I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.”
Philippians 1:6
• While expecting twins, I was confined to six weeks of bed rest. In order to pass the time, I took up cross-stitching. How I struggled to count and match the colorful pattern on the alphabet print I’d selected! I finished all but the Z before I went into labor. I framed it just that way. It has been said that our lives resemble an elegant tapestry woven by God. From our viewpoint, staring at the underbelly of his creation, all we can see is colorful string and multiple knots. Most tapestries look less than orderly from beneath. Mistakes, do-overs, and first tries can be reworked by the creator into beauty. When dedicated to God, the top sides of our canvas-lives produce beautiful patterns. As we offer Christ our mistakes, he uses even those to enrich the design. God knows exactly what our life-in-progress will look like upon completion.
