• “Guess what?” Just yesterday, Betty had told me how her brand- new gift—a sports watch—had been stolen by a friend’s daughter who stayed with her during the recent power failure. She looked ready to burst, so I waited. “Well, somebody I don’t know went and gave me a couch!” “That’s great.” I often ask God to take care of Betty. She slapped a hand to her cheek. “It gets better.” Her dark eyes grew mischievous. “I was sittin’ on it last night, and I reached my hand down between the cushions and pulled out . . . a Timex!” She showed me the gold encircled face. “It still had the tag on it.” “God sure does love you, Betty.” Her smile could have restored a power failure. God has all the resources to meet your needs today.
