“In quietness and confidence is your strength.”
Isaiah 30:15
• For two days of winter, I put the world aside and went on a personal retreat. I checked into a beach-view motel room and took off my watch. No distractions, no interruptions. Then I walked to the chilly beach. I didn’t see a single person. For the first time in my life, I knew I was completely alone with God. The next morning, I awoke early, grabbed a blanket, and retreated to my front porch to watch the sun as it opened a new day. It was an awesome sight. The ball of fire rose behind a cloud, which formed the most beautiful cross I had ever seen. I realized then why I had come to this place at this particular time. I needed to feel the presence of Jesus away from the noisy activity of my world. In that silent place, I took refuge in my Lord and Savior. In quietness, be where you are; there is God.
