“My job was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it,
but it was God, not we, who made it grow.”
1 Corinthians 3:6
• I put off buying the large, expensive planter, so imagine my delight at finding one in front of a rental house my brother- in-law was renovating. It was heavy, but I got it home without dumping its soil. I left it on our patio, intending to fill it with fragrant petunias. I never got back to that planter until spring—and things were sprouting in it that I didn’t recognize: colorful nasturtiums. I loved this free gift of color that overflowed the container. The person who left that planter behind had flowery expectations of spring but never saw them there. Have you, like me, given your time and talents in Kingdom work and never seen the results of your labor? If so, take heart and be thankful. Someone is surely reaping on your behalf. Others will enjoy the brilliant color, and inhale the sweet fragrance, of our gifts of love.
