“[They] prove they have changed by the good things they do.”
Acts 26:20
• As Max, my five-year-old grandson, and I hurried into the mall, he ran ahead and held the heavy door open for me. Then he murmured a few words. “What, Max? What did you say?” Behind me his mother laughed. “He said he’s leaving a heart print. In preschool the children were told that by doing nice things for people, they leave a heart print. Now Max scrambles to say and do kind things.” When his friend, Jay, had a temper tantrum, and his mother struggled to calm him, Max said, “Just think happy thoughts, Jay.” Max sometimes forgets and reverts to selfish ways. So do I. It takes daily discipline and real effort to put the principle into practice, doesn’t it? Kind deeds are non-erasable; they leave indelible marks.
