“Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.”
Hebrews 6:15
• “I’m tired of waiting, Mommy,” my daughter said. We’d been standing in a long, winding line for the Mine Train roller coaster at Six Flags for about thirty minutes. She fidgeted, having been excited all week about her first chance to ride the roller coaster. “I don’t want to wait anymore; let’s leave,” she said. I knew she’d regret it if we did, so I convinced her to wait it out. Then, after we’d screamed and laughed our way through the ride, she pointed to the line. “Let’s go again!” I’m not a patient waiter either. My husband and I waited through ten years of infertility and frustration before God placed this lovely daughter into our lives through adoption. Yes, it’s tough to wait. But when God’s time arrives, and I’m on the ride of my life, I thank Him for the perfect moment of answered prayer and fulfilled dreams. God’s promises are worth the wait.
