Wide Open Message

“Because I preach this Good News,

I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal.

But the word of God cannot be chained.”

2 Timothy 2:9

• Our little Yorkie dog is limited by a large screened porch at the back of our house. He can play, but his ability to roam is quite limited. But the screens sure don’t stop his barking at every- thing that moves! In much the same way, Paul tells Timothy that the authorities may lock him up for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but God’s Word is hardly screened off! Paul’s message had already reached far beyond his jail in Rome, spread by believers until it reached the known world. Even death could not silence the message. Timothy, and others yet to come, would take up the task and carry on. That’s how Paul could endure suffering for the cause of the Gospel. Physical limitations are no match for unconditional love. Proclaim the Good News to all, with no limits.
