“. . . When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!
When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.”
Isaiah 43:2
• For several years I had been reading my Bible and praying each day. Had these disciplines made a difference in my life? I didn’t see any clear evidence of it until a “fre and food” experience left our seventeen-year-old grandson paralyzed after a fall. During his rehabilitation, I helped care for him. I learned to suction his tracheotomy, position him to prevent pressure sores, and exercise his limbs. Wonder of wonders, I had strength for the tasks. I have no doubt that through daily meditation and prayer, I’d been storing up patience and courage for such a time. God doesn’t plan for you to faint or fail in difficult situations. He knows the future and helps you prepare for it. Consistent reading and applying words from the Bible play a part in your preparation for life’s fires and foods. Trust God to carry you through without harm.
