STOKBROOD WITH SALTED BUTTER

Ingredients

2 cups buttermilk, plus extra for serving 100 g cold butter, cubed 3 tsp sea salt, crushed, plus extra for topping 1/2 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda 500 g cake flour, plus extra for dusting

Cooking Instructions

Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and rub in the butter using your fingertips. Once the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, add the buttermilk a little at a time, using a butter knife to mix until a dough forms. Divide into small squash-ball-sized portions, roll into long strips and twist around skewers or sticks. Braai over open flames until slightly charred and cooked through. Serve hot with butter.
