Our version of Chinese braised duck breasts with a sticky sweet sour salty sauce. This dish will make your wildest dreams come true.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon B-well canola oil 3 - 4 filleted duck breasts 2 tablespoons soy sauce (to marinate the duck) 1 large ginger, chopped 1⁄4 onion, chopped 1⁄4 spring onions, roughly chopped 1 handful of parsley 500ml water 1 1⁄2 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons oyster sauce 3 tablespoons soy sauce
Method:
1. Marinate the filleted duck breasts with 2 tablespoons soy sauce.
2. Add your oil to large skillet on high heat and fry the duck in the pan on both sides until golden brown. Remove the duck breasts from the pan and set aside until later.
3. Keeping the pan on high heat, add the ginger, onion, spring onion and parsley. Cook for about 3 to 5 minuets.
4. Return the duck back to the pan, add the water, oyster sauce and soy sauce - reduce the heat and cover the pan with a lid so it can simmer for about 30 - 35 minuets. Add more water if the pan looks a bit dry.
5. Remove the duck from the pan after 30 minuets and set aside.
6. Add the sugar to the pan and if the pan is a bit dry you can also add 3 more tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon oyster sauce and 3 tablespoons water, stir constantly and let the sauce reduce to an almost syrup like consistency - add the duck back and cook on both sides for about 3 to 5 minuets.
What you will be left with is the most delicious braised duck you've ever had...
