Deep fried white button mushrooms

These deep fried white button mushrooms are easy to make and absolutely delicious. Great as a starter or a side-dish.
Ingredients:
300 grams white button mushrooms, washed 1 cup flour 1⁄2 cup cornstarch (Maizena) 3⁄4 tsp baking powder 1⁄2 tsp salt 1⁄2 tsp paprika (optional) 1 cup water 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs 1L B-well canola oil for frying
Method:
1. Mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt in a bowl, then add the water and give the batter a good stir.
2. Dip the mushrooms into the batter, allowing the excess batter to run off.
3. Transfer the mushrooms to a small bowl containing the Panko breadcrumbs to coat.
4. Using B-well canola oil, deep fry the mushrooms until golden brown.
We served these delicious deep fried white button mushrooms with a side of B-well creamy gourmet mayonnaise mixed with a squeeze of lemon juice.
