If you want to treat your family to some delicious Chinese food, then this is the recipe you'd want to make. The taste is almost identical to the Chicken Chow Mein, you would get from your favorite Chinese restaurant and the chicken is so tender, that it melts in your mouth. This dish only takes around 20 minutes to make.
Ingredients:
2 chicken breast fillets, sliced in strips 8 tablespoons dark soy sauce 5 tablespoons oyster sauce 3 spring onions, chopped into 2cm pieces 1 small bag beansprouts 2 cloves garlic, grated 1 red onion, finely sliced (normal onion is fine) 3 tablespoons B-well Canola oil 1/2 pack noodles (egg noodles work great) 2 teaspoons sugar
Method:
1. Marinate chicken for no less than 2 hours in 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon oyster sauce and refrigerate.
2. Bring a pot of water to the boil and cook noodles according to packet instructions. Run under cold water to prevent sticking.
3. Heat B-well canola oil in wok/pan until very hot and fry chicken strips until cooked. (1-2 minuets) and remove from wok. Do not overcook.
4. Add garlic and onion to hot wok/pan and cook until softened slightly, then add beansprouts, spring onions. Immediately add your cooked noodles and pan fried chicken to the pan with all your other ingredients.
5. Make a large well/circle in the middle ingredients and add the 8 table spoons dark soy sauce and 4 table spoons oyster sauce and sugar. Stir thoroughly for 2 minuets and serve.
Voila! You have an incredible restaurant quality chicken chow mein. By marinating the chicken and flash frying it for only 1-2 minuets you get chicken, that melts in your mouth...
